Very last library van for Chelmorton
End of an era as the last visit by the silver and orange van parked in Main Street. After lengthy consultation the end was set and it was greated with a soft white blanket of snow in Chelmorton for the end of line library van visit.
Santa hats all round, for the last stamping of the paper card library tickets. Locals rallied up to sing festive songs and enjoy some mince pies in a celebration for all the past support of the pages delivered on wheels to the linear village amongst the white limestone walls.
It was mince pies and carol singing to celebrate memories of the library van service in Chelmorton on the morning of Tuesday 9th December. Tracey and Carol talked of pre generations collecting their school summer reading books from the library van. From science fiction to school, large print to tourist text, it was all onboard for the last visit and the returns came in. Soft white snow on the ground as the pages of books took one last rental as the service ended today Tuesday Dec 9th 2014.
