Boxing day sunshine for walks around the lanes of Chelmorton where villagers stopped to chat and catch up on the Christmas news. By bedtime it was doors closed as a terrific quick fall of snow turned the village of Chelmorton white, by midnight the snow had stopped but 4 or 5 inches lay the length of Main Street. Villagers of Chelmorton awoke on Christmas Saturday for picture postcard view of 'snow white' Manchester's Panto - Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Chelmorton would have made the perfect setting for a Snow White photo shoot. Tractors busy with cattle feed broke through the drifts and the village was open for business as folk set about clearing the church path of St John the Baptist church ready for the Sunday service.
