Hockey player, Morgause Lomas from Main Street Chelmorton wins a Cambridge Blue March 3rd in Oxbridge 2019 Varsity hockey match.

Morgause, playing shirt one, yellow goal smock for Cambridge University, stood the line to save a penalty in the 58th minute of the Varsity Oxford Univ game against Cambridge which took place on the neutral ground of Southgate hockey club in North London.

Morgause, a former Repton U18 goal keeper,  was on the national winning Repton squads in all age categories; she played for Beeston and the County of Derbyshire as goal.

 Former Hollinsclough junior school, presently reading archaeology at Homerton College Cambridge. As a first year she played in the Nomad second team. In 2019 she was chosen for the Cambridge University Blues, first represent Cambridge in Varsity.

The line was hard as Oxford took two first-half goals against Morgause before Cambridge returned two-one.

Second half opening with an award of a penalty to Oxford. Morgause took a centre line, the flick went left and she stopped it centre of the hand as Cambridge roared with success.

2019 Varsity went to Oxford as Cambridge strength is building. Time ran out before the Blues were able to balance the score.

Morgause was awarded match tankard and earns the right of Varsity to wear the sports blue of Cambridge.
