No April fools for Chelmorton road closure
From sun tan lotion to snow in April showers, as temperatures bounced between zero and thirteen heatwaves for the early days of April in Chelmorton.
No joke for April fools - pinch punch, first of the month as the yellow work signs arrived to advise the road would be closed for two weeks from Monday April 15th.
Main Street and the Ditch have become traffic light alley with works on the smart new blue water pipes; tap pressure is up in many homes in the village, eleven hundred feet above sea level, but the road closure beyond the Ditch to the A515, Buxton to Ashbourne Road looks set to cause a few detours for Easter Weekend and the end of April.
Clocks have moved and it's time to set your diary for Saturday April 27th sizzler at 7.45pm in Chelmorton, all welcome.
Easter Bunny should remain on time and the big date set for the village is the weekend April 27th / 28th – The Camping and Caravan Club will arrive in the heart of the village for their bonfire sizzler weekend.
A giant bonfire is already building, local sausage will be available for all while it lasts. Saturday April 27th, all welcome, bonfire and sausage sizzler, the flames begin at 7.45pm
Sunday evening is a joint benefice service of the White Peak at St John's Chelmorton to complete a perfect weekend, keep your fingers crossed for sunshine on the campers and come and join them at the bonfire, Saturday night, April 28th
