Carl Lomas Chelmorton, Derby London Paris Heathrow Manchester week-long cycle ride for Transaid transport charity

One hundred thousand tweets and one hundred thousand pounds for Transaid in the Paris transport cycle ride.

Carl Lomas left Chelmorton for the University of Derby and began a week-long cycle ride to Paris, returning to Manchester as September drew to a close.

The adventure was in aid of transport charity Transaid, Patron HRH The Princess Royal focuses on road safety in Africa.

Lomas used a twenty five year old cycle, training  from Main Street in Chelmorton in the hills of Derbyshire for 500 miles over six weeks , riding on both the right and the wrong side of the road using the Dieppe-Rouen route. He rode in a shirt and tie of the Carmen transport livery of which HRH Anne is a past Master.  Returning Manchester for the TfGM national freight event Thur Sept 28th. 

Other training included running in the Goyt Valley and Carl finished the Taddington Lanes race during the flower festival week ten minutes faster than he had ever run it before.
