Big turnout for Christmas Day in St John's church, Chelmorton
Bells rang loud in Main Street for Christmas morning as folk walked through the gates of St John's Church to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus.
David Race took the service, lighting the last candle to celebrate the birth light of Jesus. The sermon focused on the terms of the meaning of Noel. Hark the Herald Angels rang out louder than the bells as a full church congregation, pews packed full roared out a favourite Christmas Carol while Elle-May played the organ.
Villagers and visitors together; many folk had been at Tideswell with Vicar Simon for midnight Eucharist, those who had not, stayed for a Eucharist at Chelmorton.
Time for Christmas dinner and the Queen's speech, eleven hundred feet above sea level in the village of Chelmorton.
Boxing Day outings focused on the river raft race at Matlock when all folk fancy dress balance the waves of the river rapids in the limestone gorge of Matlock Bath.
