Buxton Carnival weekend July 14th 2018
Blistering heatwave, Wimbledon, Henley, Silverstone GP and World Cup football set the scene for a perfect Saturday Peak District extravaganza of the town carnival.
Chelmorton Friday evening reception, colourful waistcoats from the World Cup frenzy adorned Main Street in celebration of the Buxton town carnival that launches the week of Chelmorton's own summer festival.
David Bagshaw had his smart red tractor ready for carnival action, John Gold organised traditional square bales of straw and a well-oiled team put together the Chelmorton carnival float in the Saturday-morning sunshine. Bacon sandwich breakfast for the float folk, Elvis, large and small, old and young, white nylon to Hawaiian flowers, Hound Dog to Return to Sender in all things King of Rock for Chelmorton.
Annual road side photo on the hills to Buxton. Elvis has been the theme for the last ten years and 2018 was no exception.
Then the regular funfair evening trip with fish and chips.
